Tianjin TEDA striker Brown Ideye has said he was “embarrassed” to score only two goals in their 2-1 victory over Shanghai Shenhua last weekend, in a Chinese Super League fixture.
The Nigeria international feels he should have scored more during the encounter.
Ideye who took his tally to four in 11 CSL games, told Tianjin Times Online News: “Of course the confidence is there and we are gradually understanding each other, we will score more goals.
“I was embarrassed scoring just two goals against Shanghai Shenhua. I had the opportunity to score more than two goals but could not.
“Our team’s attack is very strong, it’s a good team, I believe will be doing better and better.
“Fortunately, I wasted a few chances, but I scored a goal at the last minute to help the team win. I’m sorry for the wasted chance.
“It was a very important game and I’m happy we won.
“I want to thank the fans who came to the scene to cheer us to victory.
Tianjin TEDA face Beijing Guoan in their CSL game this Sunday.
