BreakingNews - Russia to supply Nigeria military hardware, helicopters

[ Masterweb Reports: Abdullateef Salau reports ] - Russia is to supply Nigeria with military hardware and helicopters to fight Boko Haram terrorism in the Northeast, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has said.

The minister disclosed this yesterday in Moscow, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.

Onyeama said both countries were stepping up their cooperation in the efforts to end Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in the world.

"They have agreed to deliver some military equipment, some helicopters. They are very much in the pipeline," he said.

The minister noted that Russia is showing great solidarity with Nigeria in the efforts to address the country’s security challenges.
